Chartaire was established in 1989 and began service as a “Single Pilot” operator. Over the course of the last twenty years we have continued to grow and expand our market area and currently operate seven aircraft.
For a few years we provided flight training and aircraft rental services but decided to concentrate our efforts on what we do best. Our efforts focus exclusively on providing safe, reliable, cost-effective air transportation and related services for our clients. We do this with our owned, managed and leased aircraft as well as our access to other charter providers when the need arises.
Our strategy is to partner with customers to help grow their business and expand their markets, with the knowledge that their success will lead to our success. We believe it is principally because of this business philosophy that we have been able grow. We work diligently to keep costs down without compromising quality of service or safety of operations. Our people work as a team and everyone’s job description is the same: “do whatever needs to be done”.
We regularly operate out of all area airports, and frequently have aircraft hangared at other locations, even though Maquoketa is our principal business location. What does that mean? An Air Carrier must designate a primary business location and that is where required records are maintained and inspected; where we conduct FAA approved and monitored training; perform routine care and cleaning of equipment; and hangar some of our aircraft.
